Meet Our Team Members
Amram Musungu
FOUNDER & C.E.O - THE HELM FOUNDATION
Amram was born in Kenya. His parents taught him that education was important and he showed tremendous intelligence and capacity at a young age. Amram is an active athlete as a marathon runner. He was a member of the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square in Salt Lake City, Utah for 12 years. He obtained three associates degrees from Ensign College – in Salt Lake City, Utah. He studied with a distinguished full scholarship and obtained both B.S. in accounting, and a Masters degree in Accountancy at the prestigious academic institution – Westminster College – in Salt Lake City, Utah, and Masters of Science in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance at Southern Utah University, Cedar City, Utah. He attained high academic honors – including the 2005 ‘Distinguished Alumni Award’ at Ensign College, the recipient of the ‘Grant Thornton Graduate Scholarship’ and awarded ‘Graduate Class Distinguished Alumni Award’ He is a visionary leader that sees good in others. He does not judge people, instead, he embraces them for who they are. He built a highly successful professional career in Cybersecurity, Financial, and IT audit. He has been involved in the political community for many years. He has strong relationships with local, state, and national leaders. His desire is to make a difference in many people’s lives both those who have and have not. He wants to leave the world a better place than he found it by serving the poor and the needy throughout the world. His business network is also deep and international. He has the support of many in the international business community. His moral core and life philosophy finds its strength in an absolute commitment to personal integrity. He possesses endless optimism and enthusiasm for life and the ability to draw out the very best of those around him.
Leigh Cox
Board Member - THE HELM FOUNDATION
Leigh Cox graduated from Utah Valley University in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in Deaf Studies. She then became an ASL Interpreter. Upon moving with her husband to San Diego, she began working at an Elementary School in North County San Diego for 5 years. She currently resides in Las Vegas Nevada with her husband and their two daughters. While she teaches 1st grade, her husband teaches kinder-5th grade music at the same charter school.
She is excited about teaching children to read and is excited about children’s education around the globe. Her connection with a small community in Africa began eight years ago in the beginning of 2013. She will be traveling this summer to finally meet the community. She can’t wait to get started on this project and support as many families as possible by small and simple acts of service.
Oliver K Meservy
CFO & Board Member - THE HELM FOUNDATION
Oliver K Meservy is a CPA financial executive with a demonstrated presentation, communication, and cross-cultural results-oriented management skills.
Oliver has broad experience serving on committees and as chair of numerous professional business, civic, and non-profit groups.
As a CPA, Oliver audited and/or professionally supervised reviews of audits in a variety of industries and institutions. He has lectured and authored hundreds of articles for professional publications on a diversity of topics including taxes, tax strategic planning, business development, and financial planning. He co-founded and was a co-host of a weekly radio program for ten years.
He enjoys music and has performed with several premier groups, including the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square. He has devoted much of his life in a volunteer capacity.
He presently serves as Chair, CEO and/or CFO for several businesses and some non-profit organizations. He and his wife, Olga, reside in Lehi, Utah and have eight children and fifteen grandchildren between them.
Andrew E Schow, Jr. (Late)
CIO/COO - THE HELM FOUNDATION
The HELM Foundation family lost one of the founders Mr. Andrew Schow in October 2021. He was a blessing to the organization in many ways. We honor his service and contribution. We miss him.
